"Where the Wild Still Speaks"
03-7 April 2028

Sumba is a place where the wild still speaks—through vast rolling hills, quiet coastlines, and traditions that remain deeply rooted in time. It is an island where the landscape feels untouched, and every scene carries a sense of space, silence, and character that is increasingly rare to find.
This journey is designed to explore both the raw beauty of nature and the cultural depth that defines Sumba. From the iconic silhouettes of Walakiri’s dancing trees to the open horizons of Wairinding Hills, and the rugged coastlines of West Sumba, each location offers a distinct visual language shaped by terrain, atmosphere, and tradition.
Rather than rushing between locations, the experience is built around timing and intention—allowing space to fully engage with each environment. It is a journey that invites you to slow down, observe, and create.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Sumba
Arrival in East Sumba.
After check-in and some rest, we ease into the new rhythm of the island. In the late afternoon, we head to Walakiri Dancing Trees where delicate silhouettes stand against the horizon, offering a quiet yet striking introduction to Sumba.
Overnight in East Sumba.
Day 2 — Walakiri in Changing Tides
We return to Walakiri before sunrise, when the landscape feels quieter and more intimate. The soft morning tones offer a completely different mood compared to the previous evening, creating opportunities for minimal and atmospheric compositions.
After breakfast, the day is left open for rest or personal exploration, allowing time to recharge between sessions. In the afternoon, we revisit Walakiri once again—this time focusing on refining compositions, experimenting with perspectives, and capturing the changing conditions as the day transitions into sunset.
Overnight in East Sumba.
Day 3 — Crossing Landscapes
We start early with a sunrise session at Tenau Hills, where gentle layers of terrain and morning mist can create a soft and textured scene. After breakfast and hotel check-out, we begin our journey toward West Sumba.
Along the way, we stop at Wairinding Hills, known for its expansive rolling landscapes that shift in color and texture depending on the season. This location offers a strong sense of scale and openness, ideal for wide compositions.
In the late afternoon, we arrive at Praijing Traditional Village for a sunset session, where architecture, culture, and landscape come together—offering a deeper visual narrative beyond pure scenery.
Overnight in West Sumba.
Day 4 — Fields and Coastlines
An early start takes us to Weekacura Rice Fields, where layered paddies and reflections create calm and structured compositions in the soft morning light. The scene here is quiet and meditative, contrasting with the more dramatic locations of previous days.
After breakfast, we take time to rest before heading out again in the afternoon toward Mandorak Beach. Known for its rugged cliffs and secluded coastline, this location offers a more dramatic setting as waves meet the land, especially during sunset when the light adds depth and contrast to the scene.
Overnight in West Sumba.

Day 5 — Final Frames & Departure
Today is the last day of our long journey. There is no sunrise photo session this morning due to the tight flight schedule. After having breakfast and relaxing over a cup of coffee for a while, we are getting ready to check out and head to the airport for our flight back to Surabaya, Bali, or Jakarta.
End of trip.
