East Java & Lombok Photography Tours - From Volcano Peaks to Island Shores

1-8 June 2026
This journey brings together some of the most extraordinary landscapes of Indonesia—volcanic highlands, hidden waterfalls, and island horizons where light reveals its purest form.

From the mystical caldera of Mount Bromo, to the surreal cascades of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, to the otherworldly blue flames of Ijen Crater, and finally դեպի the tranquil shores of Lombok—this is a journey designed not just to explore, but to experience.

This is not a typical trip.

This is a carefully crafted photography expedition—built around light, timing, and atmosphere. Every location, every movement, every moment is chosen with intention: to place you exactly where you need to be… when the light is at its best.

You won’t just visit these places.
You will witness them at their finest.

Bromo is, without question, one of the true highlights of the entire journey.

Set within the vast caldera of the ancient Tengger volcano, Mount Bromo rises from a sea of volcanic sand and drifting mist—creating a landscape that feels almost otherworldly.

At sunrise, the entire valley transforms.

Clouds flow like an ocean beneath you, بينما golden light slowly reveals layers of mountains and shadow. It is a place where scale, light, and atmosphere come together in perfect harmony.

This is where many photographers fall in love with Indonesia.

Further south lies one of the most unique waterfalls in the world—Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

Unlike any ordinary waterfall, it forms a complete curtain of cascading water—surrounding the valley in a 360-degree amphitheater of motion and mist.

Nearby, hidden within a quieter corner of the landscape, Coban Sriti Waterfall offers a more intimate and atmospheric setting—especially in the soft light of afternoon.

Together, they create a perfect balance of power and serenity.

To the east, Ijen Crater offers something truly rare.

Famous for its natural blue fire—visible only under specific conditions—it is one of the few places on Earth where such a phenomenon exists. As night fades into morning, the landscape reveals yet another surprise: a striking turquoise crater lake, contrasting beautifully with the rugged volcanic terrain.

It is raw, dramatic, and unforgettable.

And finally, the journey opens into something entirely different.

Lombok—an island where everything slows down. Known for its pristine beaches, rolling hills, and endless horizons, Lombok offers a softer, more tranquil conclusion to the adventure.

Here, the light is no longer something you chase.

It simply surrounds you.

This journey is designed for those who seek more than just destinations.

It is for those who want to experience light, refine their vision, and return not only with powerful images—but with a deeper connection to the places they’ve seen.

Day 1 — Arrival to Surabaya, Transfer to Bromo

Arrival to Surabaya. You may arrive on any flight, and our team will arrange a private transfer directly to the highlands of Mount Bromo.

The journey takes you away from the city, gradually climbing into cooler air and quieter landscapes. By evening, you arrive near the caldera—your base for the next days.

Early rest is recommended, as the first light awaits.

Day 2 — Bromo Sunrise & Volcanic Exploration

Early morning departure to Kingkong Hill.

From above the clouds, you will witness one of Indonesia’s most iconic landscapes. Mount Bromo rises from the mist and volcanic sand, while the first golden light slowly reveals the surrounding mountains.

After sunrise, we descend into the caldera—crossing the vast sea of sand and approaching the crater for closer compositions.

In the late morning, return to hotel for rest.

Optional sunset session or free exploration around the Bromo area.

Day 3 — Penanjakan Sunrise & Journey to the Waterfall Region

We begin once more before sunrise, heading toward Mount Penanjakan—a quieter, more intimate vantage point over Mount Bromo.

Here, the sunrise feels different.

Less dramatic, more atmospheric. Layers of mountains slowly reveal themselves as soft light spreads across the horizon—offering a deeper, more refined perspective of the landscape.

After breakfast, we leave the highlands behind.

The journey continues south, and the scenery begins to transform. Volcanic terrain gradually gives way to lush valleys, dense greenery, and flowing rivers—signaling a shift into a completely new environment.

By late afternoon, we arrive near the waterfall region and head directly to Coban Sriti Waterfall for a sunset session.

Hidden and serene, this location offers a more intimate atmosphere. As the light softens, the waterfall is gently illuminated—creating a calm, almost meditative setting to end the day.

Return to hotel and rest.

Day 4 — Tumpak Sewu Sunrise & Djawatan Forest

Early morning departure to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

At sunrise, the landscape reveals its full scale.

Water cascades from every direction, forming a vast natural amphitheater filled with mist, light, and movement. As the first light enters the valley, the scene transforms continuously—offering endless compositions from wide perspectives to intricate details.

This is one of the true highlights of the journey.

After the morning session, we begin our journey east toward Banyuwangi.

The scenery shifts once again—gradually opening into drier terrain before transitioning into something unexpected.

In the afternoon, we arrive at Djawatan Forest.

An ancient-looking forest where towering trees and sprawling roots create a surreal, almost mythical atmosphere. Light filters through the canopy, forming depth, shadow, and texture—ideal for more artistic and moody compositions.

A completely different energy from the morning—
yet equally powerful.

By evening, we continue to the Ijen area.

Check-in, rest, and prepare for the next early departure.

Day 5 — Ijen, The Blue Fire Awakens

The day begins long before midnight.

We depart in the darkness, heading toward Ijen Crater—where one of nature’s rarest phenomena awaits.

As we reach the crater, a surreal glow emerges.

Blue fire flickers quietly against the darkness—an otherworldly scene hidden deep within the earth. It is subtle, powerful, and unlike anything else on this journey.

As night slowly fades, the landscape transforms once again.

The first light reveals the vast crater and its striking turquoise lake—calm, luminous, and almost unreal. Steam rises, colors shift, and the entire scene feels suspended between two worlds.

This is where contrast defines everything—
fire and light, darkness and color.

After the sunrise session, we descend and return for a short rest.

By late morning, the journey continues—leaving the volcanic landscapes behind as we travel back toward the city of Surabaya.

The long drive becomes a moment to pause.

To review images.
To reflect on what has been captured.
To slowly transition out of the intensity of the past days.

Arrival in Surabaya by evening.

Check-in at hotel, rest, and prepare for the next stage of the journey—

as we leave Java behind and continue toward a completely new landscape.

Day 6 — Lombok: Beneath the Shadow of Rinjani

The journey shifts.

Leaving behind the raw intensity of Java, you arrive in Lombok—where everything feels more open, more spacious, yet no less powerful.

From here, the road leads toward Sembalun.

Set beneath the towering presence of Mount Rinjani, the landscape unfolds in quiet elegance—rolling fields, gentle hills, and natural patterns stretching into the distance.

The pace slows.
The light softens.
And the journey begins to feel different.

In the afternoon, we head to Kebon in Sembalun for sunset.

Here, the beauty is subtle.

Layers of farmland and hills glow under warm evening light, while Rinjani stands silently in the background—grounding the entire scene with its scale.

No rush. No spectacle.
Just balance, simplicity, and perfect light.

Overnight in Sembalun.

A quiet reset—
before the next chapter unfolds.

Day 7 — From Highlands to the Edge of the Sea

Before the world fully awakens, we head out for sunrise at Selong Hill.

From above, the landscape reveals its quiet geometry—layers of hills and patchwork fields stretching endlessly beneath the first light. As the sun rises, soft shadows and textures begin to emerge, creating a scene that feels both simple and deeply refined.

A different kind of beauty.
Subtle, yet powerful.

After breakfast, we check out and begin the journey south.

The road gradually descends from the highlands of Sembalun, leaving behind the shadow of Mount Rinjani as the landscape opens toward drier hills and coastal terrain.

The shift is unmistakable.

By afternoon, we arrive in South Lombok and continue to Telawas Beach for sunset.

Here, the ocean takes over.

Rocky formations, dramatic coastlines, and endless horizons create a bold contrast to the soft landscapes of the morning. As the sun sets, the sky ignites—casting warm tones across the sea and carving depth into the rugged shoreline.

This is where the journey meets the edge.

Overnight in Kuta Lombok.

A place where everything slows once more—
carrying you gently toward the final chapter.

Day 8 — A Quiet End to an Extraordinary Journey

The final morning arrives gently.

At the edge of the island, we begin with sunrise at Turtle Island—where the ocean is calm and the horizon stretches endlessly under the first light of day.

There is no urgency now.

Only the sound of the waves, the warmth of the rising sun, and a quiet awareness that this journey is reaching its final chapter.

After breakfast, we return, check out, and prepare for departure.

A simple transition—
yet it carries the weight of everything that came before.

Because this was never just about the places.

It was about the moments—
the first light over Mount Bromo,
the endless cascades of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall,
the surreal glow of Ijen Crater,
and the quiet, open landscapes of Lombok. And somewhere along the way, something changed.

You stopped chasing the perfect moment—
and simply learned to be present within it.

This may be the end of the journey.

But the way you see light—
that stays with you.
